2016 Update: This year's Rocks, Raptors & Wildflowers trip will take place on Saturday, April 9. If you're interested in attending, please contact the California Raptor Center by phone at 530-752-9994 before it fills up. Here's a dispatch from last year's event along with some photos.

Rocks, Raptors and Wildflowers is a field trip that California Raptor Center hosts each spring, so long as the conditions are conducive. This year a group went out on April 4. The caravan starts at the Raptor Center and heads northwest on Highway 16 toward Clearlake. The wildflowers were wonderful this year and it was an beautiful day.

Below you'll find photos of some of the views discussed by the California Raptor Center’s knowledgeable volunteers, who serve as guides for the annual trip.

Volunteers, friends and the public will again be invited to sign up for this fun springtime event the next time around.
