Virtual Open House - May 2, 2020

Grasshopper is a Swainson's hawk

Join us online for a unique physically distanced Open House experience

While the CRC remains closed to the public, on Saturday, May 2 we will be sharing a virtual version of our popular annual Spring Open House that you and your family can enjoy from the safety of your home. We are working hard to bring you an experience that is as close to our in-person Open House as possible!

Don't forget to join us for 2 Facebook Live Q&A sessions:

  • 10:00 am - Ask a Naturalist
    • Julie Cotton, CRC's Volunteer & Outreach Coordinator, will be answering your questions live with our veteran education ambassador Grasshopper (a light morph Swainson's hawk) on the glove
  • 12:00 pm - Ask a Vet
    • Michelle Hawkins, CRC's Director and Professor of Avian and Exotic Animal Medicine and Surgery at UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine, will be answering your questions about the veterinary medical side of our work at the CRC

You can view the live Q&A sessions by logging into your personal Facebook account and visiting the California Raptor Center Facebook page.

In these uncertain times, we’re not sure when we will reopen, but we simply couldn’t let a spring go by without an Open House event. We can't wait to bring you these fun, educational activities for both the young and the young at heart! Visit this page on May 2 for the video links, and our Facebook page at 10 am and noon for the live Q&A sessions.
